Bridie O’Hare’s story

Teenager Bridie O’Hare, from Cleethorpes, survived the Arena attack and wants to help those who also suffered by doing a sponsored run for the fund.

The 19-year-old has set her self the challenge of running the Sheffield half marathon on April 8, and will be raising money for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

Bridie said: “After being present at the Ariana Grande concert on May 22 last year, I’ve been left traumatised and confused by what happened. One day I thought to myself I was sick of being upset, sick of doing nothing and knew it was time to take action.

“Therefore I decided to take on the challenge of the Sheffield half marathon. It will be a huge challenge considering I’d never done a race before. In doing so I am raising money for the We love Manchester emergency fund, because it’s time to make a difference for those who need it most.”

What a wonderful gesture, especially given her own difficult experiences.
