Shaun Malpass’ story

A survivor of the Arena attack is organising a three-legged cross-country charity race to raise money for the We Love Manchester Fund.

Shaun Malpass, 23, from County Durham, was at the Ariana Grande gig on the fateful evening of May 22, 2017, and despite his own struggles with what happened, he wants to help others who suffered during the terror incident.

Explaining his idea, Shaun said: “I am holding a charity challenge, where pairs will run around a man-made cross-country course. The area is usually used for horses, as I’m an equine events co-ordinator. The public will also place bets on who they want to win, with the money going to charity. There will be a fun day running alongside the main event, which will include stalls and entertainment to raise more money.”

Shaun has set up a fundraising page HERE where you can donate, or find out more information about the event.
